Will There be Animals in Heaven?

Taken from the book  Heaven by Randy Alcorn

I once read Billy Grahams's response to a little girls question,  "Will my dog who died this week be in heaven?"  Graham replied, "If it would make you any happier, then yes, he will be."  Animals aren't as valuable as people, but God is their maker and has touched many people's lives through them.  It would be simple for Him to recreate a pet in heaven.  I see no reason to believe he wouldn't if it would bring His children pleasure.

Adam, Noah and Jesus are the three heads of the three Earths.  When Adam was created, God surrounded him with animals.  When Noah was delivered from the Flood, God surrounded him with animals.  When Jesus was born God surrounded him with animals.

So will Ranger or Cleo, Spot or Tigger be in Heaven?  Why Not !

C. S. Lewis gives us a creative glimpse of Heaven in "The Magician's Nephew, King Aslan declares the sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve, now in Narnia on it's first day, to be kings and queens.  the talking animals make crowns for the first king and queen and express their delight in being ruled by these humans.

One of the animals who watches this scene is a horse named Strawberry, who drew a London carriage on Earth.  He toiled and sometimes his master Frank, a cabbie, whipped him to make him move faster.  Strawberry, who Aslan renamed Fledge, marvels at the King Frank in the New Narnia:  "My old master's been changed nearly as much as I have!  Why, he's a real master now."

Aslan later says to King Frank and Queen Helen, "Be just and merciful and brave.  The blessing is upon you.

All the people celebrate.

All the animals rejoice

Aslan , Lord of all, is pleased.

In a poem about the world to come John Piper writes

And as I knelt beside the brook

To drink eternal life, I took

A glance across the folden grass,

And saw my dog, old Blackie, fast as she could come.

She leaped the stream-Almost- and what a happy gleam

Was in her eye. I knelt to drink

And knew that I was on the brink

Of endless joy.  And everywhere

I turned I saw a wonder there.

Humorist Will Rogers said "If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went."
