Hospital Services
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest
available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety,
especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most
modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during
all anesthetic procedures.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory
facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology,
urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial
veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and
consultations.
Behavioral
Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the
correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing,
spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Emergency
Care: Please call our main telephone number for
instructions for after-hour emergencies. Or, visit the For Emergencies
section on this web site.

Community Services We work directly with the Fauquier County SPCA by bringing dogs and cats
from their shelter to our office, providing medical attention and
adopting them out to good homes. From 1992-2007 NBAH has
placed a total of over 417 dogs and cats into happy homes. We
are thankful to the Fauquier County SPCA and to the families that
provide homes for these special animals. If you are looking for a
dog or a cat to add to your family, please call us, or just stop
in. We usually have one cat and one dog that we sponsor from the
shelter at a time.
NBAH also
treats wildlife
in need of emergency
medical care at no charge. These animals are then released to
licensed rehabilitators to eventually be returned to the
wild. From 1992-2007 our doctors and staff have assisted in
the treatment of 830 wildlife animals and birds. In 2006,
NBAH's charitable giving to both the SPCA and wildlife rescue
efforts totalled $6,283.00. NBAH's 2007 charitable giving to
both the SPCA and wildlife rescue efforts totalled
$7,172.70 |
