ADOPTIONS - WE HAVE HOMES !

We are not able to save them all but due to the dedication of Dr. and Mrs. Bailey, all the Doctors and Techs and Staff of New Baltimore Animal Hospital, the impact has been tremendous.

New Baltimore Animal Hospital has placed over 575 dogs and cats from 1982 to the present, as well as assisting in the treatment of at least 1599 wildlife creatures from 1999 to date.  New Baltimore Animal Hospital is blessed to be able to help those "without a voice".

From all of us here we are humbled to be part of this effort.

Dr. Bailey continues to bring dogs and cats here to the hospital to take care of their medical needs, socialization and to place them into their loving homes

We are had a banner year for 2009 adopting wonderful cats and dogs to their forever and ever homes. We are starting 2010 off with a BANG with two adoptions in the first two weeks of January. THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL CLIENTS THAT HAVE GIVEN THESE DOGS AND CATS THEIR SECOND CHANCE.  We honor each one of our clients.

A note from the Fauquire SPCA

Ruby Memorial & Thank You

As the age old saying goes, “never judge a book by its cover” and as Forest Gump’s mother said to him, ”life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you will get”. Such is adopting an animal from a rescue or shelter. This all proved to be true when Fauquier SPCA received 2 Pugs from an owner that could no longer keep them.

We knew that finding new homes for these 2 dogs would be no problem as is the case with most small breeds. Both dogs were very social and outgoing and easily acclimated to being here. Ruby was very active and exuberant and Brooks was the perfect little gentleman.

New Baltimore Animal Hospital, (NBAH)  has been long time foster‘s for many dogs and cats from our shelter over the years. When Brooks and Ruby came in they were transferred into this wonderful foster environment, and both dogs had adoption applications filled out within 12 hours.

While doing the health exam that Dr. Bailey does on all the animals NBAH fosters he discovered that Ruby was Jaundice and bloodwork showed just how serious this would prove to be. Her numbers were off the charts from what normal reading should have been. A later sonogram showed an enlarging Gallbladder and some other issues.

Ruby was monitored and spent her nights going home with office manager, Karen Putnam. The happy Pug personality was compromised only by her weakening health. Ruby was loved and cared for by the entire staff at NBAH until her quality of life was too hard for her to handle.

As hard as it is for those of us that deal with the good and sad of many animals on a daily basis this was the best of a very bad situation. It was very unforeseen and undetectable to the naked eye as Ruby was so full of energy.

We would like to say Thank You so much to Dr. Bailey and Meg and to Karen and Rick Putnam for accepting Ruby into their home for a short while. Also thank you to the staff at NBAH for the best care a small black pug named Ruby received over the past 3 weeks.

We are grateful to all our foster homes and the wonderful work, time and patience it takes to welcome a newcomer into your home for a short while until we can find them what we hope will be a forever home.

Thank you from the entire staff at Fauquier SPCA

Karen Goula, Shelter Manager
