Dr. Brown has had a passion for animals and a desire to become a veterinarian since she was a young girl growing up in New York. She worked at veterinary hospitals throughout high school and studied pre-veterinary medicine at the University of Delaware. She graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 and has worked as a Small Animal Veterinarian in Northern Virginia ever since, joining NBAH in 2018. Although she loves all aspects of general practice and the variety of cases that she is presented with, her passion lies in preventative and geriatric care, internal medicine, and surgery. She believes it is not only important, but necessary, to help educate owners on what they can do to help keep their furry companions healthy and also what to expect and what their options are if they aren’t so healthy. The Veterinarian-Owner-Patient bond is very special to Dr. Brown, so you can consider her like family. When she isn’t helping animals, Dr. Brown likes to spend time with her husband, children, and 2 dogs kayaking, hiking, traveling, or just lazing around!
